Functions, Birthday Parties, Christenings, Dinner Dances, Masonic Weekends and more in Margate

We offer any number of different functions at Smiths Court Hotel, including Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, Renewal of Vows, Graduation, Christenings, Masonic Weekends, Dinner Dances, Funeral Wakes, and many more. We have a separate page showing all of the details for our weddings

Whatever your occasion and whatever your needs, whether you are organising for yourself or spoiling someone else, we will have the perfect package to suit your individual needs. From a large table having dinner or a Sunday Carvery, to a sit-down event for 80 guests, or an evening buffet with disco, we can offer the perfect package, the perfect menu and the perfect venue for you. 

All our food is cooked in house, which allows us much greater flexibility over our menus, so for any dietary requirements, whether lactose intolerance, gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, or for any other allergen information, you can speak to any of our staff, or arrange a specific menu when talking to our function co-ordinator.

For small numbers, we offer a table for dinner from our standard restaurant menu, which runs at lunch and dinner every day of the week. We can offer this for numbers of up to 24 guests, and can put up to 12 on one round table, or up to 24 on one 'dog bone' table.

For a more specific event, you can choose between a lunch menu and our two evening menus. Our Lunch Menu and our Evening Menu 1 contain our classic dishes that are enjoyed throughout the year, while Evening Menu 2 offers a more gourmet dining experience. Alternatively you can choose the Presentation Buffet, which gives you a starter and dessert served to your table, and a main course from the buffet table offering a choice of hot and cold dishes.

Depending on numbers, we can look to offer exclusive use of The Orangery for your function, and if you want to continue your night with a disco or band, you can move into the Cumberland Suite after your meal, which will be laid ready for you to carry on the party. We can also arrange any balloons, cakes, flowers, sweet carts or photographers for your lunch or evening event.

Our Lunch Menu is priced at £17.95, Menu 1 and the presentation buffet are priced at £21.95 an Menu 2 is priced at £29.95. Please take a look at our menus to the right. We are always happy to discuss any specific menu choices or requirements you may have, and can customise any menu or package to suit your needs.

We offer a different range of buffet packages for you. By far our most popular package is the hog roast package, which serves up to 100 guests, and is priced at £799. Alternatively, we can offer our other buffet packages from £11.95 per person. Both these packages include room hire of the Cumberland Suite dependent on numbers, and the room will be dressed for your function.

We can arrange a disco or band to entertain your guests throughout the evening, and can offer a discount on our hotel bedrooms for any of your guests who would like to stay overnight. We can also arrange any balloons, cakes, flowers, sweet carts or photographers for your evening event.

We have developed our Ladies Festival package to suit most requirements, but this can be tailored to any specific need. Our standard package includes arrival on the Friday to tea, coffee and cake, a table d'hote dinner or hog roast dinner with live entertainment on Friday night, two nights bed and breakfast, a seven course banquet dinner on the Saturday night (or add cheese and biscuits to make it eight courses), with toast master, pianist through the meal, table flowers and balloons, a disco in the evening and a midnight sandwich platter.

For those lodge members who are not able to spend the whole weekend, we can offer Saturday night only places, as well as banquet only places for more local members.

We also offer a free bed and breakfast stay for the Festival Secretary and/or the Master (up to four guests in total) before the event to have a look at the hotel and discuss any requirements with our function co-ordinator.
